Residential PA is a project that was designed by WeareCrude. Sheila Llovet and Anna Torndelacreu who are the founders of Crude, have played the leading role in this beautiful design. Simplicity within a serene atmosphere are at the heart of their projects as it is seen in Residential PA as well. The residence is located in Begur, Girona with the outstanding view of Costa Brava. The basic idea of the project was creating an enduring monument to design and a sculptural work camouflaged among the nature. It took more than 2 years to complete the project but the result is just remarkable since they have realized their goal and created a sculptural work that is so blended with nature.

The residence offers a brutalist style on the outside. It gives a rough look provided with concrete, but the interior is completely different as it is much more soft and cosy. Different material pallet has been used for the interior; American walnut wood and ceramic tiles in different colors are some of the materials that catch the eyes at the first place. Especially American walnut wood is the main element soften the interior when it’s combined with elegant and simple furnishing. One of the best example of this combination is seen in living room. Concrete ceiling provides an integrity with the exterior as it also attunes with hard look, but the beige couch and the fireplace with wooden surface soften the look and provide that coziness. Color pallet has mostly formed by neutral tones but more vivid color details used in some parts of the living room completely changes the atmosphere and brings a freshness to the design. Claret red chairs matched with the art work on the background; floor lamp with wooden stand or orange garden chairs are some of the elements that changes the energy of the place. Living room seems much more crowded comparing to the other parts of the house, as other parts such as bedrooms are much more simple and less furniture have been used.

Floor-to-ceiling windows are another features of the house that brings a character to the design since they provide a connection between outside and inside. Each part of the house is opened to a small garden that has positioned in the heart and another garden is on the top of the house. How they harmonize with each other create a great integration between different layers. This harmonization is not only between layers but also with their surroundings and this is the key of the design as it is the main feature that make the home blend with nature.
