Carissa Duncan, the principal and the owner of SALT+BONES is one of the names that industry’s coming talents. Carmel Valley with its salient panorama is the place where both her house and studio located. The first thing she’s done before designing her house completely was painting all the walls to white which create a spacious ambiance. On the contrary, coal black exterior makes the design quite impossible to escape detection through the nature. Bohemian style with lots of white and wooden furniture is what everybody’s get used to but instead of using lots of wooden Carissa Duncan exhibits her own style and prefers mostly black which create a great contrast. Most features of the house like blackened iron doors in the kitchen give an edgy look but round steel table for the dining soften the energy. While the floors correspond to natural ambiance with lots of plants, black creates a modern touch in design particularly with her Knoll Suzanne Lounge chair located in the corner of her living room and coffee table made by Faye Toogood.
