Glenn Sestig Architects maintain their existence over two decades with global achievements, bringing contemporary designs together with elegancy. Studio’s designs’ unity is obvious considering how the modernist tradition of Belgium is seen through minimalist, elegant and clear designs. Especially Zen philosophy with Nordic aesthetic are at the forefront as charactheristics of the studio. Pavilion Sestig, located in Deurle, Belgium functions as the main base of studio also as the home of the architect and his partner. Design was created at the first place for a private art collectioner, then redesigned with the studio’s great approach. Workspace and domestic areas are located on the ground level of pavilion with an open-air courtyard at the middle. While grey tones have been prefered predominantly for color pallet, natural materials have been used to create such modern look. The replacement of carpets with natural stones is also one of the features that support the natural ambiance of the design, especially to provide a cleaner and distinctive interior. Clean lines, modern window frames and minimalist touches of the interior is still outstanding, yet rounded corners of the exterior are definetly one of the most outstanding features that makes the pavilion different.
